A Study on the Effectiveness of Online Learning on Improve English Speaking Skills of the First-year English Majors at Phenikaa University

Abstract

This graduation paper investigates the effectiveness of online learning in improving English Speaking skills of the first-year English majors at Phenikaa University. The study aims to clarify how first-year English majors perceive and assess the effectiveness of online English speaking skills learning, what challenges they encounter when learning English speaking skills online, and what suggestions can be made to improve the effectiveness of online English speaking skills learning. The findings have revealed that online learning brings convenience to learners in terms of flexibility, cost savings, quick access, and easy acquisition of knowledge. Students also encounter difficulty in interaction, technical problems, or unfavourable learning environment. To address the challenges, some suggestions are also recommended by the graduation paper.
