A new observation is that fundamental particles possess a dynamical dark charge, which governs both neutrino mass and dark matter, where the neutrino mass is determined via a canonical seesaw, while the dark matter stability is ensured by electric and color charge conservations. We examine the mass spectra of fermions, scalars, and gauge bosons, as well as their interactions, taking into account the kinetic mixing effect of U(1)Y,Ngauge fields. The new physics phenomena at colliders are examined. The dark matter relic density and detection are discussed.

Polybia-MP1 is a well-known natural antimicrobial peptide that has been intensively studied recently due to its therapeutic potential. MP1 exhibited not only potent antibacterial activity but also antifungal and anticancer properties. More importantly, MP1 shows relatively low hemolytic activity compared to other antimicrobial peptides having a similar origin. Thus, besides investigating possible mechanisms of action, great efforts have been invested to develop this peptide to become more “druggable”. In this review, we summarized all the chemical approaches, both success and failure, that using MP1 as a lead compound to create modified analogs with better pharmacological properties. As there have been thousands of natural AMPs found and deposited in numerous databases, such useful ...

In this paper, we analyze the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and the fairness of average packet transmission time for a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system which consists of a base station (BS) and two legal NOMA users in the presence of an eavesdropper (Eve). In order to extract the superimposed signal, the Eve is considered in two modes, i.e., successive interference cancellation (SIC) mode and parallel interference cancellation (PIC) mode. Accordingly, we analyze the secrecy performance of the considered system by deriving a new exact expression for SOP. Furthermore, the optimal power allocation between two legal users is determined such that the average transmission time from BS to two legitimate users are approximately equal to achieve the fairness of average packet ...

Electrospinning is a low-cost and straightforward method for producing various types of polymers in micro/nanofiber form. Among the various types of polymers, electrospun piezoelectric polymers have many potential applications. In this study, a new type of functional microfiber composed of poly(γ-benzyl-α,L-glutamate) (PBLG) and poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) with significantly enhanced electromechanical properties has been reported. Recently reported electrospun PBLG fibers exhibit polarity along the axial direction, while electrospun PVDF fibers have the highest net dipole moment in the transverse direction. Hence, a combination of PBLG and PVDF as a core–shell structure has been investigated in the present work. On polarization under a high voltage, enhancement in the net dipol...

In this work, we developed a Geant4-based code, IS-2020, for photonuclear studies below 200 MeV covering the giant dipole resonance region (GDR). It uses G4LowEGammaNuclearModel, which consists of preequilibrium and equilibrium reaction mechanisms, for sampling the final states of photonuclear reactions. Simulations for photonuclear reactions on 96Mo, 90Zr, and the strongly-deformed nucleus 153Eu targets have been performed for its validation. Moreover, a good agreement was also observed between experimental relative yields and the simulation results of 59Co(,2n)57Co and 50Cr(,2n)48Cr reactions induced by bremsstrahlung. The implemented code will be a useful and reliable tool for photonuclear studies, including designing the experimental setup, estimating the yield of outgoing produ...

Motivated by the unprecedented high levels of recent economic policy uncertainty in Europe and the globe, this paper examines the relationship between economic policy uncertainty and bank stability, as well as the conditioning effects of bank regulation and supervision on this relationship. Using a sample of more than 950 commercial banks in eight major European countries over the period 2005–2020, economic policy uncertainty has been consistently linked to a sharp decrease in bank stability, once other traditional drivers are controlled for. More importantly, this paper offers important insights into how strengthening bank regulation and supervision, particularly regulations on activity restrictions, capital stringency, official supervisory power, and private monitoring, cushions t...

The analysis of structural relaxation dynamics of polymers gives an insight into their mechanical properties, whose characterization is used to qualify a given material for its practical scope. The dynamics are usually expressed in terms of the temperature dependence of the relaxation time, which is only available through time-consuming experimental processes following polymer synthesis. However, it would be advantageous to estimate their dynamics before synthesizing them when designing new materials. In this work, we propose a combined approach of artificial neural networks and the elastically collective nonlinear Langevin equation (ECNLE) to estimate the temperature dependence of the main structural relaxation time of polymers based only on the knowledge of the chemical structure ...

In the present work, we have reported the dye removal efficiency of Cobalt chromite, CoCr2O4 nanoparticles synthesized via the solvothermal method. The obtained CoCr2O4 nanoparticles demonstrated that the dye removal efficiency of CoCr2O4 nanoparticles could be enhanced by a reduction of size or improved water dispersibility. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model best describes the adsorption of Congo red (CR) dye on CoCr2O4 nanoparticles. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm model fitted best for the adsorption process and the adsorption capacity for CCO@450 and CCO@550 nanoparticles were found to be 59.4 and 43.8 mg g−1, respectively. Dye adsorption studies on a mixture of CR, MB, and RhB dyes solution revealed that the MB removal efficiency of CoCr2O4 nanoparticles could improve to 8...

Mechanical elements with freeform surfaces are very common in aerospace, automotive, mold and die industries. With increasing demand for higher quality of freeform surfaces in many different applications, quality monitoring and evaluation of freeform surfaces have become of great concern in modern manufacturing. In this study, quality evaluation of a freeform surface manufactured by CNC milling was carried out. First, the point cloud data of a given freeform surface sample manufactured by stamping were acquired by using different scanning systems, namely HandySCAN 3D 700 and ATOS Compact Scan 5M. Based on the point cloud data, the toolpaths, including roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing, were generated using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. Milling experiments were t...
