A variety of deep learning schemes have endeavoured to integrate deep neural networks (DNNs) into channel coded systems by jointly designing DNN and the channel coding scheme in specific channels. However, this leads to limitations concerning the choice of both the channel coding scheme and the channel paramters. We circumvent these impediments and conceive a turbo-style multi-carrier auto-encoder (MC-AE) for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, which is the first one that achieves the flexible integration of DNN into any given channel coded systems while achieving an iteration gain. More explicitly, first of all, we design the MC-AE independently of both the channel coding arrangement and of the channel model, where the output layer of the MC-AE decoder is des...

Multiphase Al2O3 samples are simulated using molecular dynamics method. These samples consist of γ-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3 crystals embedded in a disordered phase matrix. The stress–strain curves of these samples show elastic and plastic deformation. Structural analysis indicates that the AlO bond lengths are stretched and the geometries of the AlOx (x = 4, 5, and 6) units are distorted during tensile deformation. AlO bond breakage causes the transformation of AlOx units; AlO4 increases while AlO6 decreases with increasing strain. The γ-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3 crystals transfer into the disordered phase, while a small number of atoms recrystallize under tensile loads. In plastic deformation, large simplexes with radii above 1.958 Å increase rapidly with increasing strains above 0.116, with th...

The phenomenon of vehicle rollover usually occurs when the driver suddenly steers at high speed. The centrifugal force will appear and cause the vehicle’s body to tilt. To overcome this situation, the solution of using the stabilizer bar is proposed. The passive stabilizer bar has a simple structure, low cost, and long service life. As a result, it is now a standard on most vehicles. This paper has established a dynamic model to describe a vehicle’s oscillation. As a result of the study, the maximum roll angle of the vehicle was reduced from 9.0° to 8.2° when the stabilizer bar was used. Besides, the minimum value of the vertical force at the wheel reached 485(N) and 1162(N), respectively, corresponding to the two survey cases. The movement trajectory of the vehicle when using the s...

A large number of piezoelectric polymers have been studied and applied widely recently and become an attractive topic in both material science and applied engineering fields. Piezoelectric polymers such as Poly(vinyl fluoride) and Poly(γ-benzyl, L-glutamate) fabricated in nanofibers have shown impressive properties in the aspect of low weight, high flexibility and high piezoelectricity. One of the major parameters influencing to the piezoelectricity of electrospun fibers is the orientation. This paper reviews the contribution of fiber orientation to the piezoelectricity properties and the technique to manipulate the orientation. The research group introduces for the first time a fully integrated and compact electrospinning system which is low cost and suitable for both lab-scale and...

In this paper, we present exact methods for solving the Time Dependent Minimum Tour Duration Problem (TD-MTDP) and the Time Dependent Delivery Man Problem (TD-DMP). Both methods are based on a Dynamic Discretization Discovery (DDD) approach for solving the Time Dependent Traveling Salesman Problem with Time Windows (TD-TSPTW). Unlike the TD-TSPTW, these problems involve objective functions that depend in part on the time at which the vehicle departs the depot. As such, optimizing these problems adds a scheduling dimension to the problem. We present multiple enhancements to the DDD method, including enabling it to dynamically determine which waiting opportunities at the depot to model. With an extensive computational study we demonstrate that the resulting methods outperform all know...

Modern society has been facing serious health-related problems including food safety, diseases and illness. Hence, it is urgent to develop analysis methods for the detection and control of food contaminants, disease biomarkers and pathogens. As the traditional instrumental methods have several disadvantages, including being time consuming, and having high cost and laborious procedures, optical nanosensors have emerged as promising alternative or complementary approaches to those traditional ones. With the advantages of simple preparation, high surface-to-volume ratio, excellent biocompatibility, and especially, unique optical properties, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have been demonstrated as excellent transducers for optical sensing systems. Herein, we provide an overview of the synth...

This paper presents the nonlinear vibration of porous functionally graded sandwich plate on elastic foundations subjected to blast loading by the analytical approach. The sandwich plate consists of two FGM face sheets and a homogeneous core which is made from metal or ceramic. Two types of porosity distribution, including evenly and unevenly distributed porosity have been considered for sandwich plate. The material properties of sandwich plate are assumed to vary in the thickness direction according to simple power law distribution with a volume fraction index and a porosity coefficient. The blast loading is assumed to be uniformly distributed on the surface of the sandwich plate and modeled by an exponential function. The Reddy’s higher order shear deformation theory with von Kármá...

In this work, we developed a Geant4-based code, IS-2020, for photonuclear studies below 200 MeV covering the giant dipole resonance region (GDR). It uses G4LowEGammaNuclearModel, which consists of preequilibrium and equilibrium reaction mechanisms, for sampling the final states of photonuclear reactions. Simulations for photonuclear reactions on 96Mo, 90Zr, and the strongly-deformed nucleus 153Eu targets have been performed for its validation. Moreover, a good agreement was also observed between experimental relative yields and the simulation results of 59Co(,2n)57Co and 50Cr(,2n)48Cr reactions induced by bremsstrahlung. The implemented code will be a useful and reliable tool for photonuclear studies, including designing the experimental setup, estimating the yield of outgoing produ...
