    The Graduation Paper focuses on studying English phrasal verbs in general and phrasal verbs in the series “Active Skills for Reading” in particular. The paper also investigates the types, formation, patterns, meaning as well as the practical use of English phrasal verbs. Besides, it compares and points out the similarities and differences between English phrasal verbs with similar phenomena in the Vietnamese language. Through the surveys with suitable questionnaires and participants comprising 110 first-year and second-year English majors at Phenikaa University, the graduation paper points out the difficulties the students usually have when they learn English phrasal verbs; and recommends several ways for English learners to overcome such difficulties.

    This study looks into how pair work affects Phenikaa University second-year English majors' speaking abilities. Assessing how pair work improves students' skills in academic and professional contexts, the research focuses on fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar accuracy, and general speaking confidence. The research, which makes use of questionnaires and in-depth interviews with sixty students, finds that working in pairs considerably increases self-assurance, vocabulary, and grammar proficiency. Even if obstacles like uneven participation and communication breakdowns still exist, several students reported gains in their active speaking and pronunciation skills.

    This study aims to identify the syntactic and semantic features of adverbial clauses in English, which are extracted from the novel “The Thorn Bird” by Colleen McCullough, and relate them with Vietnamese equivalents.Practically, the exploitation of adverbial clauses in the novel “The Thorn Bird” helps learners gain a deeper understanding of adverbial clauses, from which they can enhance and improve their English language skills and translation ability from English to Vietnamese and vice versa.

    This graduation paper aims to discuss the conditional sentences in the novel “The Call of the Wild” by Jack London. The thesis is conducted to investigate the English conditional sentences in terms of their structures and uses, then find out all types of conditional sentences in this novel and their equivalents in Vietnamese. At the same time, the thesis identifies the similarities and differences in the grammatical features and pragmatic functions of conditional sentences used in the novel and their Vietnamese equivalents, and then offers some implications for Vietnamese researchers and learners on how to translate English conditional statements.     This research investigates the difficulties faced by first-year English majors at Phenikaa University in developing their listening skills, addressing two primary questions: what are some difficulties for first-year English majors at Phenikaa University, and what are some suggestions to improve listening skills for first-year English majors at Phenikaa University?.     This present research aims to find out the extent to which the dictation method enhances listening comprehension among third year English majors of Phenikaa University. With an evaluation method that has been scaled up, the study’s objectives will try to establish the effects that dictation exercises have on the comprehension of spoken English among students.
