    The main purpose of the research is to find out the listening comprehension challenges among second-year English majors at Phenikaa University and provide some strategies to help students overcome difficulties. The tool used for collection data in the research is a questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed for first-year English majors and specifically, 100 students at the Phenikaa University participated in the survey. The results show that learners encounter many difficulties in learning Listening skills: Difficulties knowledge of language, knowledge of discourse and language, emotion, the speed of the speaker(s), listening materials, listening time at class, the quality of listening recording, background noises.     This research investigates the difficulties faced by first-year English majors at Phenikaa University in developing their listening skills, addressing two primary questions: what are some difficulties for first-year English majors at Phenikaa University, and what are some suggestions to improve listening skills for first-year English majors at Phenikaa University?. The instruments used in the study were questionnaires. The questionnaire was designed for 126 students in 7 classes out of the 426 students chosen at random in class.     This present research aims to find out the extent to which the dictation method enhances listening comprehension among third year English majors of Phenikaa University. With an evaluation method that has been scaled up, the study’s objectives will try to establish the effects that dictation exercises have on the comprehension of spoken English among students. The study will use pre- and post-dictation comprehension check, to determine the degree of enhancement of the students’ listening skills resulting from dictation.
