This paper offers some observations from a practitioner perspective on Swiss measures to support businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, as a complement to the paper ‘Governmental measures in Switzerland against mass bankruptcies during the Covid-19 pandemic’ by Rodriguez and Ulli in this volume. A brief overview of the main fiscal and non-fiscal measures is followed by analysis of the reasons for non-use of a major non-fiscal measure (a new moratorium), and some suggestions as to the lessons that can be learned from this for the design of analogous relief policies in future crises.vi
