This project presents the design and performance analysis of a braking system tailored for a prototype vehicle, with the primary goal of enhancing safety, heat dissipation, structural integrity, and cost-effectiveness. The study addresses key challenges in designing a braking system for lightweight, custom-built cars, emphasizing the need for optimal material selection, structural robustness, and thermal efficiency. AISI 5140 steel and SiC-reinforced aluminum composites were evaluated through CAD modeling (CATIA V5) and FEA simulations (ANSYS), with thermal and structural performance assessed under realistic braking conditions. |
