Here the parameters A,B∈R+F and the initial values x0,x−1∈R+F. Utilizing a generalization of division (g-division) of fuzzy numbers, we obtain some sufficient condition on the qualitative features including boundedness, persistence, and convergence of positive fuzzy solution of the model, Moreover two simulation examples are presented to verify our theoretical analysis.

We extend the study of the random Hermite second-order ordinary differential equation to the fractional setting. We first construct a random generalized power series that solves the equation in the mean square sense under mild hypotheses on the random inputs (coefficients and initial conditions). From this representation of the solution, which is a parametric stochastic process, reliable approximations of the mean and the variance are explicitly given. Then, we take advantage of the random variable transformation technique to go further and construct convergent approximations of the first probability density function of the solution.

This research concerns the use of warped ruled surfaces in the load bearing structures of 19th century stone bridges in Prague. The descriptions of a skew arch used at The Negrelli Viaduct and a special surface called “corne de vache” used at The Legion Bridge are based not only on historical survey, archival materials and period publications, but also on contemporary measurements.

In this paper we study a family of limsup sets that are defined using iterated function systems. Our main result is an analogue of Khintchine’s theorem for these sets. We then apply this result to the topic of intrinsic Diophantine Approximation on self-similar sets. In particular, we define a new height function for an element of Qd contained in a self-similar set in terms of its eventually periodic representations. For limsup sets defined with respect to this height function, we obtain a detailed description of their metric properties. The results of this paper hold in arbitrary dimensions and without any separation conditions on the underlying iterated function system.

The deployment of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in a plethora of analytical and bioanalytical applications is a growing research area. Their unique properties such as high but tunable porosity, well-defined channels or pores, and ease of post-synthetic modification to incorporate additional functional units make them ideal candidates for sensing applications. This is possible because the interaction of analytes with a MOF often results in a change in its structure, eventually leading to a modification of the intrinsic physicochemical properties of the MOF which is then transduced into a measurable signal. The high porosity allows for the adsorption of analytes very efficiently, while the tunable pore sizes/nature and/or installation of specific recognition groups allow modulating ...

In this study, the sensory and mechanical aspects of the texture of goat’s milk salad cheese were correlated with the emotional profiles of consumers. Using descriptive sensory analysis and instrumental assessment, the texture profile of goat’s milk salad cheese was compared to cow’s milk salad cheese and Feta cheese. Texture measurements confirmed that goat’s cheese compared to cow’s cheese had more softness and less hardness, and Feta cheese had the highest whiteness index compared to the other cheeses. Goat’s milk salad cheese was much less acceptable to consumers compared to cow’s milk cheese and Feta cheese. Consumers also indicated that the hardness of goat’s cheese was lower than that of cow’s cheese and Feta cheese.

This study determined the effect of three concentrations (R1: high, R2: medium and R3: low) of rosemary added to dry-cured ham slices vacuum packaged. pH and the colour parameters were evaluated at 0, 7, 14, 28 and 60 days of storage; visual appearance, odour, flavour and camphor content were assessed at days 7, 14, 28 and 60. The rosemary concentration changed the colour parameters, significantly altering the visual appearance (p < 0.001 at 7 and 14 days; p < 0.5 at day 28), but did not affect the pH, neither odour nor flavour. Nevertheless, significant differences were found with the time on R1 and R2 in odour (p < 0.01 and p < 0.001, respectively) and in flavour (p < 0.001). Camphor content was similar in all samples but changed over the time in R1 (p < 0.001) and R2 (p < 0.01). ...

Chemical reactions of ball-mill activated [Nb6I11] with alcohol solutions of Mg alcoholates result in the formation of the three new hexanuclear Nb cluster compounds [Nb6I8(HOCH3)6][Nb6(OCH3)18]·2CH3OH (1), (PPh4)2[Nb6(OC2H5)12I6]·C2H5OH (2) and (PPN)2[Nb6(OC2H5)12I6] (3). They contain cluster anions, which have the edges of the Nb6 octahedra, i.e. the inner coordination sites, μ2-bridged by the O atoms of methanolato or ethanolato ligands. Thereby, they represent further characterized members of the so far very small group of hexanuclear cluster alcoholates. The terminal metal sites are bonded to further methanolato (1) or iodido ligands (2 and 3). Sterically demanding organic cations (PPh4+, PPN+, 2 and 3) or a cationic Nb6 cluster complex with terminal methanol ligands [Nb6I8(HOC...

The aim of this work is to investigate if vinyl-modified carbohydrate compounds are suitable monomers for thin film polymerization via chemical vapor deposition in a proof-of-concept study. Synthetic carbohydrate-based polymers are explored as biodegradable, biocompatible, and biorenewable materials. A thin film of synthetic polymers bearing sugar residues can also offer a good surface for cell attachment, and thus might be applied in biomaterials and tissue engineering. The possibility of having such thin film deposited from the vapor phase would ease the implementation in complex device architectures. For a proof-of-concept study, sugar vinyl compound monomers are synthesized starting from methyl α-D-glucopyranoside and polymerized by initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) lea...

A comparative study of the sorption behavior of europium, a chemical analogue of trivalent actinides, and uranium was performed on hydrated cement paste (HCP) CEM I and calcium-silicate-hydrates (CSH) phase. Kinetic experiments proved that Eu sorption is faster than that of U depending on the phase ratio L/S and the sorption material, whereas EDTA has no significant effect. Same conclusions can be made for equilibrium experiments with HCP and U while with Eu EDTA clearly influenced the distribution ratio Rd with sorption reduction factor (SRF) below 0.5. Uranium sorption on CSH compared to HCP is higher with SRF above 1.2.
