With its various available frameworks and possible devices, augmented reality is a proven useful tool in various industrial processes such as maintenance, repairing, training, reconfiguration, and even monitoring tasks of production lines in large factories. Despite its advantages, augmented reality still does not usually give meaning to the elements it complements, staying in a physical or geometric layer of its environment and without providing information that may be of great interest to industrial operators in carrying out their work. Using data from the German Socio-Economic Panel, this paper analyzes changes in the gender pay gap in West Germany between 1984 and 2020. The literature generally observes a catching-up of women over time with a slowdown since the mid-1990s and often concentrates on the USA. We present both an aggregate and detailed decomposition of changes in wages allowing us to directly test for changes in the components of the decomposition across gender and time. Apart from standard OLS, we use linear unconditional quantile regressions in order to be able to take changes in the gap and its components at the mean and across the distribution into account. |
Self-loosening of bolted joints can occur in a vibration environment, and it may induce bolt fatigue fracture with catastrophic consequences. It is essential to clarify the self-loosening mechanism, based on which novel anti-loosening thread structures can be developed. In this paper, we propose the concept of radial slippage propagation and provide new insights into the self-loosening process. The new theory states that the slippage along the radial direction of the thread surface induces more slippage areas (slippage propagation), and self-loosening occurs due to the dynamic evolution and propagation of contact states on the thread and bearing surfaces with an increase in the number of vibration cycles. |

There have recently been intensive efforts aimed at addressing the challenges of environmental degradation and climate change through the applied innovative solutions of AI, IoT, and Big Data. Given the synergistic potential of these advanced technologies, their convergence is being embraced and leveraged by smart cities in an attempt to make progress toward reaching the environmental targets of sustainable development goals under what has been termed “environmentally sustainable smart cities.” This new paradigm of urbanism represents a significant research gap in and of itself. |

This paper presents the following welcome properties of the graph, relating to its structure: (1) vertex transitivity that facilitates the working of an algorithm meant for a “local” context in the global context as well, and (2) an exact formula for the distance metric, which leads to a precise result on the distance-wise vertex distribution of the graph and an exact formula for the average vertex distance. |

Thanks to the improvements experienced in technology during the last few years, most especially in virtual reality systems, the number and potential of networked virtual environments or NVEs and their users have been increasing. NVEs aim to give distributed users a feeling of immersion in a virtual world and the possibility of interacting with other users or with virtual objects inside it, just like when they interact in the real world.
